I’ve had this recipe on the side of my refrigerator for a good two years. It’s one of those recipes I’ve always wanted to make and share. However, I kept thinking it’s too basic since it uses canned cherry pie filling and Dream Whip.
So when my mom asked me to return the recipe card because she wanted to make it for Easter, I was kind of surprised. But you guessed it. On Easter Sunday, I had to try a slice. Talk about good!!!
As you know, I’ve been on a weight loss journey (I’m down 17 pounds by the way.), and through the course of my weight loss journey (and recent personal journey), I’ve realized that life is about balance. I’m on board with exercising, eating more healthfully, and avoiding processed foods. In fact, I love cooking with fresh, in-season ingredients. But it turns out that I also like Dream Whip and cherry pie filling. And though they might “not be so good” for me, I’m going to thoroughly enjoy them on occasion.
