Here’s a new upcycling idea that has us scanning local markets for beautiful, thrifted lamp shades. We made flower pots easily using RapidSet CementAll® painted on with a brush.

Filled with plants, these lamp shades are sealed, waterproof and durable. Stained to look like antique terra cotta, they look much more expensive than they were. Our costs were about $25 for the pair.

Lamp shades come in many shapes and styles. This hexagon shade reminded us of elegant terra cotta pots from Europe, but there are many other shapes available that we’d love to upcycle as well.
