STOP!!! Don’t pass this recipe by. Lemon lover or not, these bars are SO melt in your mouth you’ll want to eat the whole pan. I have had this recipe for years. Everyone loves them and I hope you will too! 3 sticks of butter in these bars. What else is there to say! enjoy
-I made this recipe for the 4th of July and thought they were wayyyyy too sugary and not lemony enough. Very disappointed. They hardly got eaten. I definitely will not make again. They ended up in my trash. Although I did enjoy the crust on the bottom…it tasted like a shortbread cookie.
-I made a boo boo. The crust looked under cooked, so while I had to go to wrk, I had my husband bake it another 10 mins then finish the baking w/the lemon filing that I made b4 I lft. When I came home it was so hard to get out of the pan. We were afraid it was a flop, a waste, a throw away to remake & start ovr again. But we ea tried a bite & decided it was worth salvaging. So I’m gonna go ahead & frost it & enjoy it, non-the-less… Lesson learned. I def wanna make this delightful sounding desert the way it’s supposed to be.
-I made these bars and they are wonderful. Since I was using the juice of real lemons I zested them too. Very lemony. I did have a time getting the crust spread out because it very sticky like cookie dough. First I buttered my hands and when that didn’t work I floured then and that did the trick. Thanks so much for sharing:)
-These are soooo good! Made them for our cookout tomorrow but had to sample, in case they werenXt any good! Thanks for shsring
