Fresh From The Fridge: Mennonite Refrigerator Rolls

Fresh bread, dinner rolls, and biscuits are my weakness. You see, I’ve been taking on a ketogenic way of eating for the last month and this means that I’m not eating carbs or sugar view grains. So far, this diet has been a real blessing to my health, however, when I smell fresh bread baking in the oven, all bets are off. My family has not adopted the low-carb lifestyle so I still bake bread and rolls for them. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t touch these yummy Mennonite refrigerator rolls. I only had a half, though, instead of 2 or 3

These rolls are amazingly simple to make, they just take time to come to fruition. That’s because you have to keep the prepared dough in the fridge overnight.

Trust me, once you get these delicious rolls all baked up and on your table, slap on some drippy butter and maybe a dab or two of fresh jam, you’ll be happy that you took the time to make them.

Who doesn’t enjoy a piping hot dinner roll with their plate of food? In my household, dinner rolls or biscuits are a staple at many of our meals. My husband and kids love them! I have an old family recipe that I generally use but I came across this wonderful Mennonite-inspired recipe over on the Amish 365 website and instantly fell in love with it. It’s a process you have to start the night before you intend on eating the rolls but that’s okay, it is well worth the wait and hassle. And really, these rolls are not hard to make in the least. Enjoy!
