This is a really good and impressive breakfast casserole for you to serve to guests. The picture shows the dish during preparation – and it only gets better from there! It’s great to find such a tasty dish that can also be prepared ahead of time. I especially enjoyed the cream topping; I think it would make a wonderful dip for fruit too!

-Thanks! I’ll definitely try that next time! The blueberry version of this was just painful when I spilled the hot juice all over me! Ha! We made the tried and true apple version the other day for breakfast again, oh so good! This time I used my apple peeler/corer/slicer to “cheat” when prepping the apples, and the girls loved having smaller slices of apple. 🙂 This is one of our favorite recipes now! 😀
-So just wanted to leave another comment. I finally got around to trying this with blueberries (see my earlier comment about the apple results-delish!!!) and it was also very good BUT incredibly juicy. As in, when I tried to flip it over, I burned myself by spilling blueberry juice ALL over me! I think if I had doubled up the bread or halved the amount of blueberries it would’ve worked out better…or even used dried blueberries instead of fresh! Either way I just wanted to post my results for other recipe varying adventurers out there! I’ll be making the apple one again soon. It was TOO good!
– I have learned from experience that I need to dust the berries (any fresh berries) with corn starch to take care of the extra juice. I had seen my mother do it when I was growing up but didn’t know why. Hope this might solve your problem.
