HOW TO STOP YOUR OVEN GETTING DIRTY

1. Before you cook something in the oven, line the base with foil or an oven sheet – these are brilliant, non-stick mats that come in different sizes – and then you won’t ever have to clean the bottom of the oven again.

2. Roast meat or fish in cooking bags to minimise the amount of fat that can spit on the inside of the oven.

3. Always remove the tray if you’re checking how well cooked food is halfway through, to avoid splashing grease inside the oven.

4. When you have finished using the oven, put a heat-resistant bowl of water inside and heat on a high temperature for twenty minutes. This will help loosen dirt and grease. When it’s cool enough, wipe the interior surfaces with paper towels.
