Orange Bread Pudding

1 loaf day-old challah or French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
3 cups milk
3 eggs
1 cup orange juice
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 orange, zested
Butter for greasing dish

When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350°F and butter a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together milk, orange juice, eggs, sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and orange zest and salt. Fold in the bread, and cover and chill until liquid is absorbed, about 1 hour.
Fold raisins gently into bread mixture and spread evenly in the baking dish.
Top with sliced almonds and bake until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, about 1 hour.
