1½ pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
3-4 garlic cloves minced
1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 can tomato soup
1 6 oz. can tomato paste
2 pounds chopped cabbage
1 cup uncooked white rice
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon pepper
3 cups water (may need more)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large skillet, brown beef in oil over medium high heat until redness is gone. Drain off fat.
In a large mixing bowl combine the onion, tomato sauce, soup, tomato paste cabbage, rice and spices. Add meat and mix all together. Add 3 cups of water. Pour mixture into a 9×13 inch deep baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven, covered, for 1 hour 15 minutes.
