Sloppy Joes were an absolute staple growing up in the midwest. Every family had their own preferred recipe, and frankly, they were all delicious. They’re a meal that’s easy to whip up for a crowd and loved by everyone from dad to the toddlers. That kind of popularity is hard to beat. So when I came across the idea for Sloppy Joe Dip, I knew it would be an instant fav. After watching it disappear right before my eyes, it’s safe to say that assumption was right!
The meat filling is pretty similar to a standard sloppy joe recipe. It’s flavored with a generous amount of ketchup and sweetened with a little brown sugar. Feel free to adjust the spice level to your liking, I like to keep mine kid-friendly. Once most of the liquid has cooked off the meat mixture, you’ll transfer it to an oven-safe dish and load it up with cheese. Stick it in the oven until it’s good and bubbly, then it’s ready to eat.
