I’m excited to share our modern DIY wood cladding slat porch wall!A couple months ago I did an overhaul to our landscaping and shared that we were getting the exterior of our house painted.
I absolutely love how it turned out and am so impressed with the quality work done by Titan’s Painting KC. We ended up using Sherwin-Williams Oyster White (satin) for the house, and Sherwin-Williams Iron Ore for the trim. So happy with that decision!
We have added a few wood accents to the exterior of our home over the years: New garage doors, three DIY window boxes, and two DIY house number signs.
It was time to add one more wood accent: a modern DIY wood cladding slat wall behind on our porch.
Here’s where we started.
I did a lot of research on different types of wood for our project, but the surging wood prices had me hunting for an affordable deal.
After some research research, I decided to order clearance fence pickets from the the Lowe’s website. I ordered (30) 5/8″ x 3-1/2″ W x 4′ H incense cedar dog ear fence pickets for $40 and picked them up curbside the next day. Shop similar pickets.
