BACON WRAPPED SMOKIES WITH BROWN SUGAR AND BUTTER

I have made these for years and they are always a hit! In order to keep them warm after they are ready, I line a crockpot with aluminum foil and put the sausages and drippings in, turn it on low, and stir periodically. You have to keep an eye on them because they will overcook and dry out, but I turn the pot on an off as needed. Enjoy!!

My dad made these at Christmastime when I was just a young girl, a long time ago. Everyone loved them. I’m just surprised that all these years later people are still making and enjoying them because I had never seen or heard of them until my dad made them, he passed his recipe down to me and I used to make them all the time around the holidays or for parties. They’re easy, fast and delicious.

These were wonderful! I made them this past weekend. I rolled the smokies in bacon on Friday and froze them. Thawed, added the butter and brown sugar and baked! Everyone one loved them and there wasn’t one left in the dish!
