The addition of Sprite is clearly some sort of magic trick, because the apples in this recipe cooked absolutely perfectly in just a short amount of time. Be sure to have some vanilla ice cream on hand when making these – It’s a must-have finishing touch.

-I just now heard about this recipe from a friend of a friend, and guess what she uses? Coca Cola! She says they are outstanding! I may try these for my company Christmas party.
-These were so easy….and quick to make….and taste delish!!! See my note on my last picture for details. LOL
Brought 1/2 of one home and had it for breakfast. Oh so yummy. I think I enjoyed the cold one this morning even more than the one last night….but both were excellent. Sure wish my hubby liked baked apples as I would make these often. Will definitely make them to take to another pot luck in the future.
-Made these this afternoon and am taking them to a ladies meeting at church tonight. My whole house smells like cinnamon. There are 10 ladies signed up to come tonight and this made 8 dumplings. Either two ladies will not get one….or I’ll have to cut them in half. LOL Not everyone likes baked apples so I’m sure we’ll have enough. Will comment again AFTER I have one; but they sure do look good…and smell great too.
The Sprite has provided a lot of liquid in the bottom of the pan and the dumplings are still swimming in liquid. I am hoping that the dumplings soak up some of the liquid before we dish them out around 7 tonight. That’s 2 1/2 hours from now.
Took a little over an hour to make these…start to finish. Posting some pics next.
