You should use a teaspoon of baking soda for each tablespoon of maple syrup or honey, or 1 part baking soda to 3 parts maple syrup/honey. Therefore, you can for example mix 4 teaspoons of baking soda with 4 tablespoons of maple syrup or honey. Make sure you mix them well and simmer the mixture on low heat for about 5 minutes.
