Blackberry Margarita Smash

Every Halloween I get super excited about making cocktails for various festivities, like pumpkin carving night and our annual post-trick-or-treat spooky movie watching tradition (it’s the only night of the year I’ll even consider a scary movie).

These have a great spooky vibe, especially when served in a pumpkin shaped glass. I got these in the dollar section at Target, but I also found these glasses that are super similar.

No matter how you serve them, the smoky mezcal and earthy sage make the cocktail better than your average margarita.

Plus, if you love a spooky themed cocktail, you will have to check out this haunted swamp water cocktail and all it’s creepy vibes.

Ingredients

  • 8 – 10 fresh blackberries
  • 2 – 3 fresh sage leaves, torn
  • 1 ounce agave nectar
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 ounce pomegranate juice
  • 2 ounces mezcal
  • Ice
  • For garnish: raw sugar, fresh sage sprig

  1. Rim glass with raw sugar and fill 3/4 with ice.
  2. Combine blackberries, sage leaves, agave nectar and lime juice in a cocktail shaker and muddle until blackberries are smashed.
