-Yes, you can use plain flour and make your own self rise flour…I use the recommened mixture from White Lily website, I put 1-1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt into a 1 cup measuring cup, then fill cup with plain flour to measure 1 full cup, then run thru my sifter or blend well with a whisk to incorporate the baking powder and salt into the plain flour
-Just made this cake last night. Added a little more milk as it was a bit thick. Perfect size, taste great. I topped it with a mango pineapple topping and whipped cream. Yum.
-Thank you for answering my question about self rising flour. I will give this recipe a try tomorrow. I plan to put fresh raspberries on it or perhaps blueberries. YUM!
