These macaroons are so simple but taste complex. They have evolved from being a staple at our annual Christmas party to the “go-to” treat for whenever we have company, are watching football games, or just want to indulge. If I didn’t make macaroons, everyone would be disappointed. When friends can’t make our parties or get-togethers, they write they will miss the macaroons, not us! Enjoy!
-I make these all the time and everyone loves them. I did some experimenting and have found some delicious add ins. Chop up some Hershey kisses with almonds. They taste just like an almond joy candy bar. The other is to add crushed pineapple and instead of almond extract use rum. Taste just like pina colada. Unfortunately, i just eye ball the amounts so, I don’t have exact measurements. Give them a try and thank you so much for the initial recipe.
-brenda thank you for that Idea! Ill try a mini batch(the baker always does from what a prof baker told me! LOL) So we have these and of course the kids wanted the ever present rice krispie treat but at least Im going to have them colored and use cookie cutters. Now for some bar cookies I can get.
