OREO AND FUDGE ICE CREAM CAKE

TASTE LIKE DQ CAKE .. KIDS LOVED IT !!! MIGHT WANNA MAKE MORE THAN 1 !!:) WAS GONE IN A FLASH !
-ok, quick question. I am making this tonight and since it has to travel for at least an hour and a half outside from the freezer, will use a large loaf pan like some of you have done. how many ice cream sandwiches will fit in a large loaf pan together and how many layers did you make?
-Hi there Rose! I made something like this a long time ago except it was mint & of course I have lost it. R S made it sound so easy, I might try it again. Doing fairly well. Had my 50th Wedding Anniversary on the 6th. Two of my daughters gave me a surprise celebration. Lots of fun, I’m still smiling. I have posted on a few recipes but mostly have just been reading & adding to my recipe box. Sending lots of greetings!
-I have made something like this before, minus the cookies. And in answer to the question if it can be made in a loaf pan…that is exactly what I did. I lined the loaf pan with foil, molded it very well inside the pan with the foil overlapping the edges by quite a bit. I layered all the ingredients and used the overlapping foil to cover the top. Froze the cake and then was able to easily lift it out of the pan in a perfect loaf shape. THEN I frosted it, put it on a nice rectangular platter and put it back in the freezer to harden the frosting. Works great! I will for sure try this version using mint ice cream sandwhiches…the family’s fave!
