Kitchen Makeover: Final Reveal Part One

Our kitchen is now about 90% complete! And I can finally share a whole heck of a lot of pictures (they were trapped on my camera for weeks, but I figured it out!). I had to break this up into two posts, because it was such a huge project.

We started two years ago making changes to our kitchen. This is how our kitchen looked from the time we bought our house in November 2005 until we started to work on it in February 2011. This is the WAY before!

This was the patterned “wallpaper” we had on our walls. We live in a manufactured home and the paneled walls are pretty standard. It was awful!

You can read all about this project and what we got accomplished by April, 2011:

  • Kitchen Makeover: The Before
  • Update No. 1 – List of what we had done and what was still left to go.
  • Update No. 2 – Cabinets Done – We stained and sealed one cabinet. We replaced all the hardware so it matched – knobs, pulls and hinges. All the cabinets got a good cleaning.
  • Update No. 3 – Oh, The Spackle! – We filled in all the joint seams, primed and painted the entire kitchen.

Essentially all we had left was to re-do the counter top in tile and do the back splash. Between it being expensive and not having the time with two small kids at home, this project got put on hold until this spring. But, it is finally done!
