When you indulge in one of your favorite sweet treats, such as an ice cream sandwich, you’re probably so focused on how good it tastes that you really don’t think too much about what’s in it.
However, one woman was forced to think about this very thing recently when her son left a Great Value ice cream sandwich, she bought from Wal-Mart, out in the summer heat and the confection hadn’t melted even after 12 hours.
Surprised that it didn’t melt in the blistering heat, she left another sandwich out overnight and by the end of the next day she found that it didn’t melt again!
She took her concerns to her local broadcast station, WCPO Cincinnati. Wal-Mart, which makes Great Value products, said their sandwiches are high in cream, which makes them melt slower than other ice cream products with less cream. But the story doesn’t end there. In fact, it just gets worse!
As website Business Insider reports, Wal-Mart’s official explanation only tells part of the story. In fact, it turns out there’s much more to a Great Value ice cream sandwich than meets the eye!
