Big Bad Brookie


In an age of never-ending dessert mashups (looking at you, Cronut!), the “brookie” is something we can wholeheartedly get behind. It’s pure comfort, combining everything you want into one awesome dessert. You’re probably already aware of the brookie, but just in case you’ve never heard of it: brookie = brownie + cookie. And it’s magical.
Usually brookies come in bar form (like a brownie) or in cookie form. We took it to the next level by baking it in a skillet, and since we like to play with our food, we decided to shape it into a groovy YIN YANG. The results are glorious to look at, but even more so to eat. Its crispy on the top and edges, and ultra-gooey in the middle. Talk about a showstopper.
We opted for a classic, homemade chocolate chip cookie recipe here, which is pretty much always the way to go. To match the texture (and bake time), we doctored boxed brownie mix with a bit of flour.
No one has to know how easy it is to make—that can be our secret!
