3 Ingredient Black Forest Cake. Never knew such an easy cake could taste so yummy. Cake with a cool whip and cherry topping. You will be making it over and over again.
Ingredients
- 1 box (2 layer) chocolate cake mix baked according to package directions
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 large container cool whip topping thawed
- 1/2 cup shaved chocolate optional
Instructions

Bake cake according to package directions.

Cool to room temperature.

Frost first layer of cake with thawed cool whip.

Apply a thin layer of of cherry pie filling.

Add the second cake and finish frosting with remaining cool whip. Pipe edges if desired.

Apply rest of cherry pie filling to top of cake. Sprinkle shaved chocolate on top, if desired.

Serve immediately or refrigerate for serving later.

Keep refrigerated.
This recipe can be substituted with strawberry or apple pie filling.
